Born into extremely difficult circumstances, Lokori was rescued from homelessness in the slums of Kampala by Akankwasa Children Center. At only four years old, he had already experienced challenges that no child should ever face.

Today, Lokori is finally safe. He has a secure place to sleep, nutritious meals, loving caregivers, and the opportunity to grow in a nurturing environment. Since arriving at Akankwasa Children Center, he has made remarkable progress and has recently begun crawling and standing on his own—an important milestone that gives everyone hope for his future.

While Lokori has made encouraging progress, he still needs specialized speech therapy to help him communicate, learn, and interact confidently with the world around him.
